ORIGIN: Martinborough, Wairarapa
CLIMATIC CONDITIONS: Warm, dry spring and summer, with some rainfall during autumn.
DATE OF HARVEST: various picking dates in March & April 2006
HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and fermentation in stainless steel. Fermentation stopped at 9 % VOL.
DATE OF BOTTLING: 24. October 2006
ALC: 9.0% VOL
TASTING NOTES:
This luscious wine obtained its name from the
Italian Vintner, who started planting this vineyard in Martinborough in 1989. Bright gold in colour with high viscosity this wine combines flavours of apricots and zest of citrus fruit with layers of honey and a hint of caramel. The sweetness is nicely balanced by a crisp acidity.
