2006 Pinot Noir "Marion's Vineyard"

ORIGIN: Wairarapa

CLIMATIC CONDITIONS: Warm dry spring and summer with some rainfall during autumn.

DATE OF HARVEST: 04 - 12 April 2006

HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Marion’s Vineyard is a selection of predominantly two Pinot Noir clones; the Pommard and the Able clone. Hand-picked and careful selection of grapes. 100% de-stemmed, cold-maceration and small batch fermentation in stainless steel vats and left on “skins” for 3 weeks. Aged in 35 % new and 65 % used French oak barriques for 12 months.

DATE OF BOTTLING: 25 June 2007

ALC: 14% VOL

TASTING NOTES:

Ripe red cherry aromas and notes of boysenberries with toasty aromas. Vibrant with fruit-sweetness and refreshing acidity, spiciness and long lasting finish with hints of earthy tones. Very approachable now but well structured with soft tannins which will allow complex further development.

DRINKING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 ºC

CELLARING: 4 - 10 years

CASES PRODUCED: 1170
