
ORIGIN: Wairarapa
CLIMATIC CONDITIONS: Cool spring and late frosts causing tiny crops while a long and dry summer ensured ideal ripening conditions.

HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Marion’s Vineyard is a selection of predominantly two Pinot Noir clones; the Pommard and the Able clone. Hand-picked and careful selection of grapes. 100% de-stemmed, cold-maceration and small batch fermentation in stainless steel vats and left on “skins” for 3 weeks. Aged in 30 % new and 60 % used French oak barriques for 14 months.

TASTING NOTES:
Initial red cherry, raspberry and some violet floral scents with hints of sassafras developing to more complex aromas with roasted hazelnuts and a touch of coffee beans. On the palate, fruit flavours with a lively acidity are complemented by a touch of nougat. Soft and approachabel tannins give this wine a smooth and silky long-lasting finish.
