CLIMATIC CONDITIONS:Mild spring leading to ideal
conditions for fruitset in December. Summer was very
hot and dry with some rain only towards the very end of autumn.
DATE OF HARVEST: various picking dates in March & April 2008
HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and fermentation in stainless steel. Fermentation stopped at 7.5% VOL.
DATE OF BOTTLING: 5 November 2008
ALC: 7.5% VOL
TASTING NOTES:
This luscious wine obtained its name from the
Italian Vintner, who started planting this vineyard in Martinborough in 1989. Lightly golden in colour with high viscosity this wine combines flavours of peaches, apricots and zesty citrus aromas with layers of
floral honey; all nicely balanced by a crisp acidity.
DRINKING TEMPERATURE: 8-10 ºC
CELLARING: now to 10 years
