Our Wines

The Wairarapa offers an unique blend of topography, ancient geology and climate to produce world class Burgundian style Pinot Noir. This was the reason for us to set up our vineyard in Martinborough where New Zealand's Pinot Noir history began with the first vines being planted in the region in 1883. Martinborough wines have achieved international acclaim for richly flavoured, savoury, yet beautifully perfumed Pinot Noir.

Our journey began with our first vintage, the 2001 Pinot Noir - a gorgeous wine with texture and depth which was quickly recognized by connoisseurs and critics all around the world.

Today we produce three Pinot Noirs focusing on clonal selection: Marion's Vineyard Pinot Noir consisting predominantly of Abel and Pommard clones, our Block B which is primarily Dijon clones and lastly our Estate Pinot Noir.

Apart from our exceptional Pinot Noir we produce an elegant and fresh Sauvignon Blanc a beautiful silky european style Rosé, our intriguing bright and aromatic Tribianco cuvée and a luscious Late Harvest Dolce.

In 2014 Kai, Marion and the team of Schubert Wines reviewed all Pinot Noirs of the past decade in a vertical tasting. We went through all vintages from 2003 till 2012 to have an understanding of the way our Pinot Noirs evolve and develop over time. For more info please click here.
