 2005 Rosé

2005 Rose

VARIETY: Pinot Noir

ORIGIN: Martinborough, Wairarapa

CLIMATIC CONDITIONS: Quite cool summer and autumn with above average rainfall. Selective picking was most important in this vintage.

DATE OF HARVEST: 29 April 2005

HARVEST & VINIFICATION: Hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks under influences of various yeasts and temperatures. Racking by gravity to keep maximum freshness of fermentation-CO2.

DATE OF BOTTLING: 14 November 2005

ALC: 13.0% VOL

TASTING NOTES: Very light in colour as the grapes were pressed straight away without maceration on skins to avoid phenolic components. Therefore very charming, crisp and fresh Rosé with raspberry and ripe cherry fruit. Good mid-palate and long, mouth-watering finish.

DRINKING TEMPERATURE: 10 ºC

CELLARING: now to 4 years

CASES PRODUCED: 83
